Aside from being virtually a home game this week for Scottie Scheffler, there isn't much reason for the world number one to tee it up other than he's still looking to get the first win of the season off his back. Even without a victory, he has been in the mix of things, to some degree, in all eight starts. The ball striking is as dominant as ever, ranking fourth in strokes gained on approach (+0.942) and sixth off the tee (+0.624). The short game has been an unusual struggle, ranking 79th in strokes gained around the green (+0.062). TPC Craig Ranch is one of the least intimidating courses around the green that players will see all season, and coupled with the need to make a ton of birdies, it fits Scheffler's current game better than most places he's competed at in 2025. As the betting favorite by a wide margin, the scale of success this week for the Texas native seems like a "win-or-bust" scenario that may not be worth it from an ownership perspective.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller
