We're heading into Week 12, so we're almost two-thirds of the way through the 2024 NFL season. Thursday Night Football has given us some wild games this season, like the 35-34 thriller of a triumph for the Baltimore Ravens over the Cincinnati Bengals and the 27-20 season opening win for the Kansas City Chiefs over said Ravens.

This week should feature a good one. One team with an incredibly tough defense against a gunslinger quarterback responsible for some explosive offensive performances will square off in a storied divisional rivalry with playoff seeding implications, for one team at last.

Who is Playing on Thursday Night Football?

The Cleveland Browns, now led by quarterback and prolific passer Jameis Winston, will face the Pittsburgh Steelers, who boast one of the best defenses in the league. The Browns and Steelers have been divisional rivals for ages, having matched up for the first time over 70 years ago.

Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will look to brush off his zero touchdown, one interception performance in Week 11 against the Ravens, while Winston is coming off a game that saw him gash the New Orleans Saints defense for 395 passing yards and two touchdowns.

When and How Can I Watch The Game?

Thursday Night Football games are exclusively streamed by Amazon through its Prime subscription service. Prospective viewers will need to be subscribers to Amazon Prime ($14.99 per month or $139 per year) or Prime Video ($8.99 per month).

Who is Going to Win?

To this point, the Steelers have clearly fielded the better team. However, divisional rivalries are prime breeding grounds for upsets in the NFL. Since the beginning of 2015, Pittsburgh has led this matchup 13-5-1. Neither history nor roster depth is on the side of the Browns for this game.

Winston will likely be under pressure often from Pittsburgh's fantastic defensive line. The best chance for the Browns to win lies on his shoulders, though. He will need to put pressure on the defense early and often and force the Steelers into a pass-heavy game plan to keep up.

If that doesn't happen, we could see another dominant game by Pittsburgh, where they're able to dominate time of possession by running the ball and giving their defense plenty of rest to work with. They rank as the fourth-best ball control offense in the league, so it will be crucial for Cleveland to push them away from their preferred strategy.

Especially if Winston is pressured heavily, the Browns' trio of wide receivers will need to create consistent, and probably quick, separation from the Black and Gold Brigade's defensive backs. Running back Nick Chubb has been struggling since his return from a knee injury in 2023, so the passing attack will have to carry the load.

It's just a lot easier to see Pittsburgh winning this game, especially after upsetting the Ravens just a few days ago.
