Rico Dowdle fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Rico Dowdle for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 16+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4
ANALYSIS: No one knows how the Dallas Cowboys running back room will play out this season. While Ezekiel Elliott is listed as the team's RB1, Rico Dowdle should be involved quite a bit on offense. Last season, Dowdle ran for 361 yards and two touchdowns while also catching 17 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
However, given the backfield uncertainty entering Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, Dowdle is a risky play in most formats. He didn't play more than 36% of the team's offensive snaps in any game last season and only had four games over 10 PPR fantasy points.
Sounds like #Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle is the favorite to be RB1.

But the expectation is that Dowdle will see much more involvement in 2024. The matchup in Week 1, though, is tough against a Browns defense that gave up just 103.8 rush yards per game last year. He also likely won't get many goal-line opportunities with Elliott in town. As a result, you should only be starting him in 16-plus team leagues this week.
