Drake London vs. Chris Olave – Who Should I Draft In 2024 Fantasy Football?

Should fantasy football players draft Drake London or Chris Olave during their 2024 fantasy drafts? Mike Fanelli examines the case for both wide receivers.

The 2022 NFL Draft class had only one first-round quarterback (Kenny Pickett). However, the draft class had six first-round wide receivers, including three coming off the board in the first 11 picks.

Two of those early first-round wide receivers are Drake London and Chris Olave. While they are two of the more talented younger wide receivers in the NFL, they haven’t turned into fantasy stars.

However, many expect that to change in 2024, with both third-year players getting drafted as top-12 wide receivers in ADP. While fantasy players should have high hopes for London and Olave, which one should they draft first?

Drake London 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

London was the WR39 last season, averaging 8.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former USC star had 69 receptions on 110 targets for 905 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 16 games. Unfortunately, he has caught every pass in his career from Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke.

Thankfully, the Atlanta Falcons signed Kirk Cousins in free agency, giving London a fantasy-friendly quarterback. Cousins has produced multiple top-12 fantasy wide receivers in his career, including two in the same year twice during his time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Chris Olave 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Olave was the WR19 last year, averaging 11.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He collected 87 receptions on 138 targets for 1,123 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 16 contests. While he got a quarterback upgrade last offseason, Derek Carr dealt with multiple injuries and struggled to connect with Olave.

While the third-year receiver will catch passes from Carr again in 2024, the New Orleans Saints hired Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator. Fantasy players should have high hopes for Olave under the new play-caller, especially given the team’s lack of other pass-catching options.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?

Fantasy players should feel confident drafting the third-year players as their WR1. However, I have London one spot higher than Olave in my rankings because he has the better quarterback. While both players should have outstanding 2024 seasons, London’s upside is slightly higher.
