When is Coby Mayo getting called up? Will Coby Mayo play in July of this MLB season? Read about Coby Mayo's debut date and fantasy baseball prospect updates for 2024.
Baltimore Orioles third-base prospect Coby Mayo has been one of the best hitters in the minor leagues this season.
Mayo was selected in the fourth round of the 2020 MLB Draft and struggled with high strikeout rates during his early seasons in the Baltimore system.
At just 22 years old, Mayo was dominating Triple-A before a rib injury this May sidelined him for over a month. However, his return has been nothing short of impressive, placing him in the "must-stash" category.

Coby Mayo Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
Mayo has looked nothing short of spectacular since returning from the rib injury and is on the verge of making his major league debut.
In 16 games since returning from the injured list, Mayo has held a .333/.444/.650 line with five long balls, 16 RBI, and an impressive 12:12 BB:K ratio.

Prior to the injury, Mayo posted a .291/.359/.605 line with 13 long balls, 37 RBI, and a 17:53 BB:K ratio across 42 games. It is great to see the budding star significantly improve his strikeout rate since recovering from his injury, as that was a negative on his game.
Coby Mayo Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
The Stoneman Douglas HS product is considered the 15th-best prospect in all of baseball on MLB Pipeline and third best in the Baltimore system only behind infielder Jackson Holliday and backstop Samuel Basallo.
He has shown high-power potential throughout his time in the minor leagues as he has hit double-digit long balls in every season and has surpassed the 20 mark twice in the past three seasons. This season, he has begun to show he can also hit for a high batting average, which is a great sign as well.
Currently, Baltimore third baseman Ramon Urias has held a poor .192 AVG in his past 11 games and has begun to lose playing time. The Orioles have their sights set on competing for a championship and Mayo will provide them with another high-upside bat in the middle of their lineup.
Even if he is not promoted until later in July, he still has double-digit home-run upside and will have numerous opportunities to tally RBI and runs on a stacked Baltimore lineup.
