Bank of America ROVAL 400 DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel NASCAR Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks

Chase Elliott - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

Justin's NASCAR Cup Series DFS picks for the Bank of America ROVAL 400. Check out his sleepers and top plays on DraftKings and FanDuel for the race.

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Charlotte Roval on Sunday for the final race of the Round of 12. Four drivers will see their playoff lives dashed on Sunday. Entering this race, it's Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Busch below the cut line.

But Reddick is on the pole for this race. Can he parlay that into a spot in the next round? Or will we see a non-playoff driver end up in Victory Lane? Maybe Chase Elliott, the only multi-time winner in the five-year history of this race?

Below are my NASCAR DFS lineup picks for the AutoTrader Bank of America ROVAL 400 on DraftKings and FanDuel this week. This slate locks on 10/8/23 at 2:32 PM ET. If you have any questions or want to talk about NASCAR, you can find me on Twitter at @juscarts.

Chase Elliott

Starts 8th - DK: $10,500, FD: $14,000

Let’s just skip over the stuff I usually write here about Chase Elliott still searching for a win and get right to the meat of this: why he’ll win on Sunday.

As I mentioned in the introduction, Elliott is the only driver to win twice at the Roval, taking the checkered flag here in 2019 and 2020. Those races were two of three races at this track where Elliott’s led double-digit laps. The other was last October, when he led 30 laps, the highest total of anyone in the race. But a late-race incident ended his chances of earning a third Roval win.

One advantage this year: he doesn’t need to think about stage points. He’ll be able to use pit strategy to maximize his chance of winning without needing to worry about going for stage victories that could end up biting him.

Kyle Larson

Starts 36th - DK: $10,300, FD: $12,500

Kyle Larson had an awful day on Saturday. He smacked the wall hard in practice and had to go to a backup car, relegating Larson to a 36th-place start.

But the 2021 Cup Series champion is an expert road course racer, not to mention a former Roval winner. While he struggled here last year, he led laps in his first three Roval starts, including a 2018 race where he led 47 laps but ultimately finished 25th. That was the race where he sped around the track on the final lap with a torn up car and managed to gain the spot he needed to keep his playoff life alive.

I don’t think he wins on Sunday because he’ll have a lot of ground to make up, but he’s an obvious place differential option because of is starting spot.

Christopher Bell

Starts 2nd - DK: $9,500, FD: $9,500

Christopher Bell starts on the front row Sunday beside fellow Toyota driver Tyler Reddick. And like the first two drivers featured in this article, Bell’s a former winner of this race. In his case, he was victorious here last year. That win was his second top 10 in three Cup Series starts at this track.

Of Bell’s five Cup Series wins, two have come on Roval-type tracks, with the other coming in 2021 at the Daytona road course. He’s also run well here in the Xfinity Series, with one top five in two starts. Bell’s a good pick to win this race.

Austin Cindric

Starts 29th - DK: $7,500, FD: $6,800

Austin Cindric’s sophomore campaign has been a fairly big disappointment. As a rookie, he had five top fives and an average finish of 16.3. This year, he has just one top five with an average finish of 21.8.

But he’s had some good moments on road courses this season, with two of his four top 10s coming on one of them. And overall, they’ve been his strongest track type. Of the 14 top 10s that Cindric’s had in his Cup Series career, half have been at road courses.

While he was only 21st in his lone Cup Series start here, Cindric is 4-for-4 when it comes to getting top 10s at the Roval in the Xfinity Series.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Starts 27th - DK: $6,500, FD: $4,500

On paper, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. isn’t good on road courses. In 36 Cup Series starts on these kind of tracks, he has just one top 10 and an average finish of 21.9.

But Stenhouse has actually been pretty solid this season. He earned that first road course top 10 back at COTA and then followed that up with a 12th at Sonoma and a 13th at Watkins Glen. Sure, there were poor finishes at Chicago and Indianapolis mixed in there, but three top 15s on road courses in one season for Stenhouse shows that he’s figured some things out.

Austin Hill

Starts 33rd - DK: $5,400, FD: $3,500

Austin Hill returns to Beard Motorsports this weekend to make his fifth Cup Series start of the season. It’ll be his first start on a road course. It’s only the second time that Beard has ever run a road course, after Brendan Gaughan raced the Daytona road course in 2020.

But Hill does have experience at this track, running it four times in the Xfinity Series. While the first three starts didn’t go particularly well, Hill was ninth on Saturday. Starting 33rd, he has a good amount of place differential upside for this one at a really cheap price.
