WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (8/29/23): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

There are three WNBA games on the schedule tonight. Two start at 7:00 p.m. ET, with the Mercury taking on the Dream and the Lynx facing the Mystics, while the headlining game at 10:30 ET is the biggest of the night, as the Sky and the Sparks meet. These two teams sit eighth and ninth in the standings with the season winding down. Chicago needs a win here if they want to stay in the playoff hunt.

If you're looking for WNBA daily fantasy picks and some betting advice this season, then you're in the right place. I'll be here providing picks for any slate with two or more games, offering my insight into the league.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates lock on 8/29/2023 at 7:00 PM ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Elizabeth Williams (Chicago Sky) @ LA (DK: $9,300, FD: $7,200)

With Alanna Smith unlikely to play on Tuesday after suffering a concussion on Sunday, Elizabeth Williams should see a lot of usage since the Sky frontcourt doesn't really have a ton behind her. We'll see some of Robyn Parks and Ruthy Hebard, but mostly I'd expect to see Williams in at the five for nearly the whole game.

Last time out against Seattle, Williams played 36 minutes, going 10-for-15 from the floor with 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block, and three steals. It was the fifth time in six games that Williams has scored in double figures.

The last time Williams faced the Sparks, Williams had 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and one steal while shooting 75% from the floor. If she'd had a little more volume in that one, it would have been a huge fantasy night. Well, Williams should see more volume this time around.

Megan Gustafson (Phoenix Mercury) @ ATL (DK: $8,100, FD: $5,900)

Brittney Griner returned last game and immediately cut into Gustafson's minutes, with the former Iowa star getting just 13 minutes of action. But when she was on the floor, she was effective, scoring 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, and one block.

With the Mercury light on scoring options right now (and eliminated from the playoffs, which means there's no incentive to play Griner too much), Gustafson should be asked to score when she's on the floor. She might only get 15 minutes, but she'll be shooting the basketball plenty during those 15 minutes.

Elena Delle Donne (Washington Mystics) vs. MIN (DK: $7,800, FD: $7,400)

Delle Donne's priced about right on FanDuel, but over on DraftKings...wow, there's huge value here. A healthy—or even a sort of healthy—EDD is a force when she's on the floor, even if she's on a minute limit.

Last time out against the Aces, Delle Donne played 22 minutes, scoring 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting with seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal. She's in line to play this game on Tuesday as the Mystics are finally starting to get healthy, and she can deliver some big numbers even if she only gets 20 minutes of action.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Jordin Canada (Los Angeles Sparks) vs. CHI (DK: $10,200, FD: $7,300)

Canada's emergence as a bonafide star has been one of my favorite stories of the year. She's always been a good player, but in 2023 she's taken a major leap forward in all areas of her game. She's averaging career highs in points, rebounds, and assists, and is just 0.1 steals behind her best mark.

Last time out, Canada scored just eight points, ending a six-game streak of games in which the former UCLA star scored in double figures. She did record four steals in that game, which was the 10th game in a row that Canada finished with two or more steals. I'm looking for a bounce-back scoring effort against a Sky team that allows the sixth-most points per game in the WNBA.

Moriah Jefferson (Phoenix Mercury) @ ATL (DK: $7,700, FD: $6,200)

The Mercury have been eliminated from the playoffs. Diana Taurasi (toe) is questionable for this game and I don't see a reason to rush her back, while Sophie Cunningham and Shey Peddy are out. Phoenix's guard rotation is really light heading into this contest.

That should leave a lot of minutes and opportunities for Moriah Jefferson. Last time out against the Wings, Jefferson had 20 points on 9-for-16 shooting with four rebounds and five assists. There are not really many other sources of perimeter offense for the Mercury in this contest, so Jefferson should have the green light to shoot the ball.

Layshia Clarendon (Los Angeles Sparks) vs. CHI (DK: $6,400, FD: $5,800)

Clarendon's resurgence this season has been a great story. They didn't play in 2022, but have made a big impact for the Sparks this season. Coming into this game, Lay's scored in double figures in five of the past six contests.

In their most recent game, Clarendon was 6-for-9 from the floor, scoring 13 points with two rebounds, six assists, and two steals in a loss to Connecticut. It was Clarendon's fourth game in a row with a steal as well as their sixth in a row with at least three assists.
