During the summer of 2022, Daniel Suarez emerged as a dominant road course racers in the Cup Series. Between June-August, the Monterrey, Mexico native finished in the top five in three of four road races, including a first-place finish at Sonoma. The one race he didn't look great at over that span was his 28th-place finish at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, the site of this Sunday's race. While one poor finish can be overlooked, his recent performances have been underwhelming. Over the last three road course races, the 31-year-old finished 36th (Charlotte Roval), 27th (COTA), and 22nd (Sonoma).
