The Columbus Blue Jackets have selected center Adam Fantilli with the third overall pick in the NHL Draft. The Canadian-born pivot took home the Hobey Baker Award for the top NCAA men's hockey player as a Freshman this past season when he put up a hefty 30 goals and 65 points in just 36 games for the University of Michigan. Fantilli also competed for Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championship, registering five points in seven games while taking home a gold medal in the process. He added three points in 10 games for Team Canada at the recent World Championship to boot. The 18-year-old could return to Michigan for his sophomore season but joined an impressive contingent of young prospects for the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.--Brenton Kemp
