Patrick Mahomes Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Chiefs' divisional-round win against the Jaguars and has been playing through the injury.

The 27-year-old hasn't been limited at practice since suffering the injury and will be all systems go for the Super Bowl against the Eagles. According to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, Mahomes can do just about everything in the playbook right now.

Mahomes is expected to be removed from the injury report and will look to lead the Chiefs to their third championship win in franchise history.

Mecole Hardman Injury Update

The Kansas City Chiefs placed wide receiver Mecole Hardman (pelvis) on Injured Reserve on Monday. Hardman initially suffered a core injury back in Week 9 that landed him on Injured Reserve, but he returned to play in the AFC Championship against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He didn't last long, playing only 15 offensive snaps before aggravating his injury. The 24-year-old pass-catcher was hoping to play in the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, but that will not happen now.

Depending on whether JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) can play in the big game, fellow wideouts Marquez Valdes-Scantling, rookie Skyy Moore and Justin Watson could have bigger roles alongside tight end Travis Kelce.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Injury Update

The Kansas City Chiefs activated running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) from Injured Reserve on Monday, so he will be active for the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Edwards-Helaire suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 11 and hasn't played since, so it's probably unlikely that he'll see many offensive snaps, if any, behind Jerick McKinnon and rookie Isiah Pacheco in the big game this weekend.

It will be interesting to see how much the 23-year-old practices this week, and that could give us more of a sense on how much he might actually play in the Super Bowl. CEH has been a pretty big disappointment in his first three NFL seasons after being taken in the first round (32nd overall) in 2020.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He was injured during the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals and didn't practice at all last week. The 26-year-old was held out due to swelling in his left knee.

After logging a whole session on Wednesday, Smith-Schuster is expected to be active for the Super Bowl against the Eagles. The Chiefs are banged up at wide receiver with Mecole Hardman (pelvis) on injured reserve and Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) limited.

Smith-Schuster has three catches for 36 yards in two games in the playoffs but should see an increase in target share with Hardman sidelined. With the recent lack of production, Smith-Schuster is mainly a boom-or-bust option for the Super Bowl's showdown DFS slate.

Kadarius Toney Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle, hamstring) was officially listed as limited in Wednesday's practice, but he appears to be making good progress ahead of the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Toney didn't practice at all last week after injuring his ankle in the AFC Championship, but he said earlier this week he plans to play in the big game.

"He was spirited yesterday and running around like crazy, so we'll see how it goes today," head coach Andy Reid said. Including the playoffs, the 24-year-old has 20 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns while carrying the ball six times for 73 yards and a touchdown in nine games for KC. He should have more opportunities on Sunday if he's active with Mecole Hardman (pelvis) out, but Toney will still be boom-or-bust for fantasy.

L'Jarius Snead Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Snead (head) said he has cleared the league's concussion protocol, and he's expected to return to practice on Wednesday after getting knocked out of the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a concussion. Snead is good to go for the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, as long as he doesn't have a setback in practices this week.

The 26-year-old is the team's longest-tenured cornerback on the 53-man roster and is the only Chiefs player at the position that has appeared in a Super Bowl with this team. Snead typically covers the opposing team's No. 1 receiver, which in this case would be A.J. Brown.

Landon Dickerson Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson (elbow) didn't practice at all last week, but he was removed from the week's final injury report last Friday and should be able to play in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 12, against the Kansas City Chiefs. Dickerson injured his right elbow in the NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers and was seen wearing a brace after the game.

The 24-year-old should be able to handle his normal role as the starting left guard, which is great news for Philly's high-flying offense.

Avonte Maddox Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox (toe) was held out of practice last Friday as a precaution, and the expectation is that he will be ready to play in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday, according to a league source. Maddox was seen with a walking boot on his left foot after missing more than a month late in the year with a toe injury.

The 26-year-old played only 19 defensive snaps in the NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers two weeks ago, but it sounds as though he'll be available to play in the big game. Still, even if Maddox is active for the Eagles secondary, Josiah Scott could see more slot duties if Maddox isn't 100 percent.
