BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 25% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: While it is true that Corey Davis' 2020 season might have been a little bit of an outlier (he scored 2.08 FP per opportunity compared to 1.67 or fewer before), he wasn't that bad last season already playing for the Jets. Davis could only finish the year as the 69th-best PPR receiver but that was, first and foremost, the consequence of missing half of the season and appearing in only nine games.
Davis has now logged four starts this season while remaining healthy and performing to the peak of his talents. We'll see if he can stay healthy or not, but when it comes to his production there is nothing to argue. Davis has scored 13.7, 16.3, and ultimately 18.4 PPR points in three of the first four games of the year (with the other one a 4.7-PPR stinker). Most encouragingly for his future, he posted that season-high score playing under QB Zach Wilson last Sunday.
The veteran wideout caught five of seven targets for 74 yards and his second touchdown of the season against Pittsburgh. That adds to two other games in which Davis caught passes for at least 70+ yards earlier this season. He's been on the field for at least 68% of all snaps with increasing shares going from that figure to 79% in W2, 87% in W3, and lastly down a bit to 74% last Sunday.
Davis has been targeted 25 times through four games for an average of 6+ looks per game catching 15 of those passes (60% catch rate). Those numbers are pretty much on par with what he's done earlier in his career, so it's reasonable to expect him to keep them up over the remainder of the season. More than a great WW pickup for those in deeper leagues in the need of a weekly WR3/Flex play with upside for some odd high-end WR2 finishes here and there.
