Melvin Gordon III Enters Week 2 As A Flex Option
Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III surprisingly out-carried Javonte Williams 12 to seven in the Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Gordon played 41 percent of the offensive snaps and ran for 58 yards on his 12 carries, adding two catches (two targets) for 14 yards through the air. He also lost a crucial fumble at the goal line, but Williams did the exact same shortly after. Williams made up for being out-carried by Gordon will 11 receptions in a pass-heavy game script for Denver. It's unlikely that Gordon will continue to out-carry Williams, but it's clear that the coaching staff wants to keep the 29-year-old involved. He'll continue to mix in as the 1B in Week 2 against the Houston Texans, where Gordon will be in play as an RB3/flex for fantasy managers.
