The San Diego Padres selected right-handed pitcher Dylan Lesko with the 15th overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. The 18-year-old made history in 2021 when he became the first ever high school junior to win the Gatorade national baseball player of the year award. During his 2021 season at Buford High School, he went 11-0 while compiling 112 strikeouts and a 0.35 ERA across 60 innings. He likely would have been the first pitcher taken in this year's draft had he not suffered an elbow injury this past April. He underwent Tommy John surgery after the injury so he'll be sidelined for awhile. He is currently committed to Vanderbilt for college.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerRead More News
