Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Whitlock (hip) has been dealing with an injury for recent weeks. This hip tightness could explain why Whitlock has been inconsistent throughout the season. The Red Sox have been using Whitlock in the starting rotation with their starters being banged up. However, he could return to the bullpen once Chris Sale (ribs) is able to get back on the field. It doesn't sound like the team plans on placing Whitlock on the injured list. Although, things could quickly change, assuming his performance doesn't improve.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
