Pete Alonso Calls His Injury A Best Case Scenario
Pete Alonso (hand) spoke to reporters about his right hand injury prior to Wednesday's game against the San Diego Padres. He stated, "I'm kind of surprised, in a good way, how it feels today." He also added, "This is probably the best case scenario, for sure." Alonso is currently being considered day-to-day. The 27-year-old slugger was hit in his right hand by a pitch on Tuesday. X-rays following the game came back negative. It seems as if there's a good chance he'll avoid the injured list. The Mets are off on Thursday, so Alonso's next chance to play will be on Friday against the Los Angeles Angels.
