DraftKings USFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 2: Daily Fantasy Football Advice

USFL DFS lineup picks draftkings daily fantasy football

Justin Carter's top USFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings for the second week of the 2022 USFL season. These Week 2 picks vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

The second week of the USFL is here. How 'bout that spring football! The first week of play featured some weather-related delays and not as much offense as you might have wanted, but it was still a successful launch for the league. The Stallions led the way with 28 points, while Pittsburgh was the only team not to find the end zone, scoring just three points on Monday.

In this article I will be providing you with daily fantasy football USFL DFS picks on DraftKings for Week 2 of the USFL season. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

USFL Quarterback DFS Picks

Shea Patterson (Michigan Panthers) - vs New Jersey Generals ($10,400)

The Generals allowed more points last week than any other team. Birmingham used two different quarterbacks in that game, but the two combined for 211 yards and two touchdowns, plus a rushing score from the QB position. Patterson was second among all QBs last week with 192 passing yards and also added 31 yards on the ground. Everything lines up well here.

Bryan Scott (Philadelphia Stars) - vs Pittsburgh Maulers ($9,600)

One quarterback threw for 200 yards last week: Philadelphia's Bryan Scott, who threw for 202 on 69.4% passing. He'll face a Maulers team that managed to pick off Jordan Ta'amu twice, but also allowed Ta'amu to complete 62.5% of his passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. If Scott can avoid turning the ball over, he can put up some points on this Pittsburgh defense.

USFL Running Back DFS Picks

BJ Emmons (Tampa Bay Bandits) - vs New Orleans Breakers ($8,500)

Emmons is the most expensive running back on this slate, but I think he's worth paying up for. The former FAU back was shut down last week, rushing 19 times for just 40 yards. But he did manage to get into the end zone, and while he averaged just 2.1 yards per carry, the volume was there, and the fact that even with his struggles, he outperformed his backup is good. New Orleans allowed 73 rushing yards and a touchdown last week against Philadelphia.

Trey Williams (New Jersey Generals) - vs. Michigan Panthers ($5,300)

The Generals were expected to use Mike Weber as their lead back, but he was cut after a knee injury. The Generals ran the ball 44 times last week, with 13 of those coming from Williams. Darius Victor saw 15 carries, but it was Williams who was involved in the passing game, as he caught five passes for 38 yards to go along with his 54 rushing yards. Really good value here. I'll likely have a lot of Williams in my lineups.

USFL Wide Receiver/Tight End DFS Picks

Lance Lenoir Jr. (Michigan Panthers) - vs New Jersey Generals ($7,600)

If you go with Shea Patterson, why not pair him with Lenior? He caught six passes for 71 yards and a score last week and now takes on a pass defense that looked pretty soft last week. The Western Illinois product should be heavily involved in this passing game all season, making him one of the top DFS targets out there.

Cheyenne O'Grady (Tampa Bay Bandits) - vs New Orleans Breakers ($5,000)

Follow the targets, which in this case means grabbing O'Grady, who was targeted 11 times in Week 1, catching eight of those for 86 yards. No other Tampa player saw more than five targets, with 34.3% of the team's targets going O'Grady's way. Jordan Ta'amu was disappointing at QB in the opener, but he's among the small group of USFL quarterbacks that I actually trust, which—in my opinion—makes O'Grady one of the more reliable DFS options out there. The fact he's only $5,000 is absurd, really.

Chris Rowland (Philadelphia Stars) - vs Pittsburgh Maulers ($3,400)

Nice stack here if you go the Bryan Scott route. Rowland was limited in practice this week with a shoulder issue, but as long as he plays this week, he's an incredible value. Last week, Rowland was targeted nine times, catching seven passes for 74 yards. He's a small receiver who thrived last week by being a safety net for his quarterback, something that should continue.

Teammate Jordan Suell only had one catch last week, but he was targeted three times. He's tall and was on the field a ton, so I'd expect to see more usage, especially in the red zone, for him going forward. Risky pick based on last week, but sometimes you have to take these risks, so if you want to go all-out on this Stars team, he's viable too, especially if Rowland doesn't play.

USFL D/ST DFS Picks

Philadelphia Stars - vs Pittsburgh Maulers ($3,500)

It's way too early to feel confident in any defense, so I'm taking Philadelphia because 1) they're cheap and 2) they're playing a team that was really bad last week. I don't know if we should blame the Maulers' struggles on the Maulers or credit Tampa's defense, but let's err on the side of "the offense was bad" and target a team that's playing against them, even though we're taking a Stars team that allowed 23 points to the Breakers last week.
