Drew Smyly Will Start On Saturday For Chicago
Drew Smyly will start on Saturday for the team against the San Diego Padres, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. Smyly joined the Cubs as a free agent after spending the 2021 season with the Atlanta Braves. In 126.2 innings for Atlanta, the left-hander posted a 4.48 ERA and a 5.11 FIP. He also struck out 117 batters while giving up just 41 walks. Smyly will join a Cubs rotation that also includes Kyle Hendricks, Marcus Stroman, Alec Mills, and Wade Miley. As of right now, he's likely only a fantasy option for managers in deeper leagues who need innings.
