Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson has struggled over the past few years. The former Penn State star receiver had a productive start to his career. In his first three years in the NFL, the veteran receiver had over 2,800 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns in 42 games.
After tearing his ACL in Week 1 of the 20217 season, Robinson signed with the Chicago Bears during the 2018 offseason. The veteran receiver played well in his first three years with the team, averaging 85 receptions on 133 targets for 1,050.3 receiving yards and 5.7 touchdowns per year.
However, he struggled in 2021. Robinson played 12 games that year, totaling only 38 receptions for 410 receiving yards and a touchdown. Despite his disappointing performance, the veteran receiver signed a three-year deal worth $45 million with the Rams last offseason.

Will The Rams Trade Allen Robinson?
While some were excited to see Robinson join the Rams last year, the veteran receiver had a disappointing 2022 season. The former Penn State star had only 33 receptions on 52 targets for 339 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
More importantly, Los Angeles has released a few veterans already this offseason. Furthermore, they are exploring the trade market for cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The team is undergoing some changes. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the Rams have permitted Robinson to seek a trade.
Which Team Is A Good Fit For Allen Robinson?
Despite struggling in back-to-back seasons, the veteran receiver has something left in the tank. In 2021, he played under the franchise tag and was unhappy with head coach Matt Nagy. Last year, the Rams struggled on offense, while Robinson missed nearly half the year with a foot injury. The good news is that the veteran should be ready for offseason workouts.
Robinson’s days as an alpha No. 1 wide receiver are over. However, he is a capable No. 2 receiver for a team with a reliable quarterback. Reportedly Robinson was going to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles last year before deciding to join the Rams. While it would take a massive pay cut from the veteran, Robinson could end up with the Eagles this offseason.
However, a more likely landing spot is the New England Patriots. They need help at the wide receiver position and likely will lose Jakobi Meyers in free agency this offseason. The Patriots have a history of adding veteran receivers in the trade market. Unfortunately, the results of those trades are hit-and-miss.
