Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
Dyami Brown, WR, Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown (shoulder) should be in line for more volume despite dealing with a lingering injury against the Las Vegas Raiders. He was able to practice fully on Thursday and Friday, so it seems he used the bye week well to get healthier. With rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) on IR, Brown will be competing with Parker Washington for the second passing option in the Jaguars offense.
Brown’s season high in yardage is 57 yards, so it’s hard to have high expectations, but with multiple injuries and a potentially new game plan coming out of the bye week, Brown could take advantage and play like he’s fully healthy once again. Fantasy managers can do worse than Brown in Week 9 in Vegas.
Tyler Higbee, TE, Rams
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has low-end streaming appeal ahead of Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. Higbee has delivered modest production recently, catching seven passes for 59 yards and one touchdown over his last two games. He also commanded six targets during his last contest back in Week 7.
Most importantly, Higbee has established himself as the No. 1 tight end in Los Angeles, holding onto his role over players such as Colby Parkinson and Terrance Ferguson. This week, Higbee gets a decent matchup against the Saints, who have allowed the eighth-most touchdowns and 12th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2025. He should be viewed as a low-end TE2 with borderline streaming appeal in a productive offense.
Taysom Hill, TE, Saints
New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been unable to find much success since returning in Week 5. Hill missed the beginning of the season while recovering from an ACL injury dating back to last season. The assumption was that Hill would be eased back into action, but he has barely seen the field over the last four games. Last week, Hill hauled in his lone target for six yards and rushed for six yards on two carries in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It doesn't appear that the Saints plan on getting Hill heavily involved in their offense. He has seen the field for less than 20 percent of the offensive snaps in three of his first four games. The 35-year-old is avoidable for the upcoming Week 9 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Rashid Shaheed, WR, Saints
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (hip) is listed as questionable, but is trending positively for Week 9's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, according to Jeff Nowak of Audacy Sports. Shaheed was a limited participant in practice every day this week after picking up the injury in the Saints' blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8.
However, Shaheed had his most productive game of the season, setting career highs in targets (12) and receptions (9) while totaling 75 yards. The 27-year-old should be expected to suit up on Sunday and catch passes from rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who is making his first career start against a stout Rams defense.
