Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 5:
Brandon Aubrey, K, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey will look to continue his electric pace in Week 5 against the New York Jets. Aubrey remains perfect on the season, making all nine of his field goal attempts and all 11 extra points.
He currently ranks second among all kickers in fantasy points (12.3), trailing only Colts kicker Spencer Shrader. The Cowboys face the Jets in Week 5, who have allowed the most fantasy points to kickers so far in 2025.
With Dallas' offense rolling and Aubrey's accuracy shining, the third-year kicker projects as the top option at his position this week.
Jake Bates, K, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates knocked in both his field goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in his team's Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Bates continues to lead the league in extra-point attempts and makes while playing with the high-powered Lions' offense, which is averaging 34.3 points per game through the first four weeks of the season. On paper, Detroit should be able to put up points again in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have allowed 29.8 points per game across their first four games.
The weather in Cincinnati on Sunday also looks favorable for kicking, so Bates should be well-positioned for success in Week 5. Bates profiles as a must-start fantasy kicker this week against the Bengals.
Matt Prater, K, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills kicker Matt Prater heads into Week 5 with a matchup that fantasy managers shouldn't overlook, even against a Patriots defense ranked ninth in scoring. While New England has been solid at limiting points, Buffalo's high-powered offense projects to move the ball consistently, creating multiple scoring opportunities for Prater.
Currently tied for ninth among kickers in fantasy scoring, Prater has delivered a reliable combination of accuracy and leg strength all season. The Bills' ability to sustain drives and generate red-zone chances gives him a strong floor and a ceiling capable of producing top-tier weekly results.
Fantasy managers in all formats can confidently roster Prater this week, as his matchup and consistent production make him one of the most appealing kicker options heading into Week 5.
Spencer Shrader, K, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts kicker Spencer Shrader has been one of the most productive fantasy kickers through the first four weeks of the season.
Shrader's 13 field goals lead the NFL, while he is tied for the lead with 14 attempts thus far. He will look to stay hot in a Week 5 home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders set up as an excellent matchup for Shrader as they are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing kickers so far. Shrader remains a top fantasy option and can be trusted as a top-six kicker heading into Week 5's slate.
Harrison Butker, K, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. Butker was busy in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens, nailing seven of his eight kicks. The Chief kicker was perfect on his three field goal attempts under 50 yards, but missed from 56 yards in the second quarter.
Butker has made 10 of 13 field goal attempts (77%) and seven of nine extra-point attempts (78%). Butker has a career 88% field goal percentage and 94% extra-point percentage, so his accuracy has taken a dip to begin the season. The Kansas City kicker may not get many opportunities to right the ship against the Jaguars on Monday night. The Jacksonville defense is allowing the fifth-fewest points per game to opposing offenses, which can limit kicking opportunities.
That said, the Chiefs offense looked rejuvenated with Xavier Worthy back, and they could be back to their high-scoring ways. Butker is ranked K5 in our RotoBaller rankings, making him a strong start at kicker in what could end up being a shootout.
