Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3 Sunday Night Football (SNF):
Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, New York Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is a compelling but volatile fantasy option for Week 3 after the best game of his career. Robinson exploded for 24.2 fantasy points against the Cowboys, hauling in 8 of 10 targets for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Wan'Dale Robinson has looked great through two weeks of action and has already earned high praise from quarterback Russell Wilson. While fantasy managers may question if he can repeat this performance, he gets an ideal opportunity against a vulnerable Kansas City Chiefs secondary.
The Kansas City Chiefs rank as the 25th-best defense against fantasy wide receivers, allowing a generous 39.95 points per game to the position, making Robinson a high-upside WR3/flex play this week.
Marquise Brown, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown was on the injury report with an ankle injury but practiced fully all week and has been removed from the report ahead of Sunday's contest. Brown was expected to serve as the Chiefs WR1 with Xavier Worthy out against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.
The speedster caught all five of his targets for 30 yards in Kansas City's loss last week. Brown's output was disappointing considering he earned 16 targets in Week 1 once Worthy exited the game. With Worthy officially questionable to play against the New York Giants on Sunday night, Brown could revert to his WR2 role in the offense. Despite having a less featured role, Brown could still have a good game against a Giants defense that was carved up by the Dallas Cowboys last week.
Both CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson had nine catches and at least 78 yards against the Giants secondary in Week 2. This Week 3 matchup could be what the Chiefs need to finally wake up their offense and Brown should be heavily involved. Brown is ranked WR42 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, making him a deeper league flex option this week.
Cam Skattebo, RB, New York Giants
New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo is expected to see a larger workload on Sunday night when the Giants face the Kansas City Chiefs. In their Week 1 contest, the rookie running back was given a minimal role as he missed a majority of training camp and the preseason due to a hamstring injury.
In this game, Skattebo ran the ball only two times for -3 yards. However, in Week 2, the Arizona State product took a much larger role, and even saw more rushing attempts than the presumed starter, Tyrone Tracy Jr. Skattebo. He took 11 carries for 45 yards and punched in his first career rushing touchdown.
Given his larger role last week and expectation to see even more attempts in Week 3, Skattebo projects to be a viable flex option despite facing a tough Kansas City defense.
Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco rushed 10 times for 22 yards and had one catch for seven yards in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Pacheco's efficiency on the ground was an issue, averaging just 2.2 yards per carry in the contest. The 26-year-old was better running the football in Week 1, averaging 5.0 yards per carry, but the game script got away from him as the Los Angeles Chargers led for the entire game.
Pacheco will have the opportunity to get back on track this Sunday against the New York Giants. The Giants have been gashed on the ground in each game this season, allowing Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Javonte Williams to have big fantasy performances. Kansas City desperately needs a spark in its rushing attack and Pacheco could be the one to provide it. Pacheco will have to show he's up to the task soon or he could start ceding more opportunities to rookie Brashard Smith.
The underperforming veteran back is ranked RB30 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR rankings, making him a viable flex option this week. The Giants have allowed a rushing touchdown in each game this season, which could bode well for Pacheco this week.
Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, New York Giants
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (calf) is "good to go" for his team's Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Tracy Jr. was limited in practice this week due to a calf issue, but will not carry an injury designation into Sunday. The 25-year-old is off to a slow start this season. Through two games, Tracy Jr. has recorded just 39 rushing yards on 15 carries, although he does have six catches for 47 yards.
The New York Giants' named starter may be in danger of losing the early-down role in New York to rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who had 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. Tracy Jr. profiles as an RB4/low-end deep-league flex play in Week 3.
