Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Juwan Johnson, TE, New Orleans
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has established himself as a favorite target of Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler early in the 2025 season. Through two games, Johnson has been targeted 20 times, hauling in 13 receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown.
The 29-year-old has been on the field for New Orleans a ton, which is a trend that should continue in the short term with Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) both sidelined through at least Week 4. Furthermore, New Orleans has been one of the league's most pass-happy teams so far, ranking fourth in the NFL with 80 total pass attempts.
Given the increased target share and red zone looks to start the 2025 campaign, Juwan Johnson should have a high weekly scoring floor and be added in all fantasy leagues of 10 or more teams.
Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has been impressive to start the 2025 season, scoring touchdowns in both games and playing a significant role in the Packers' offense. While his two-catch, 16-yard line with a touchdown in Week 1 wet fantasy managers' appetites, his Week 2 certainly got the attention of everybody.
Kraft led all tight ends in Week 2 in receiving yards (124) and yards after the catch (74), while inarguably being the Packers' most productive pass-catcher through two weeks with the most targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns amongst Green Bay pass-catchers. With quarterback Jordan Love on a very efficient run, coupled with Jayden Reed (clavicle) being out for several weeks, that opens up a little more opportunity to get Kraft in space in the middle of the field.
In Week 3, the Green Bay Packers visit the Cleveland Browns, who have not faced a tight end like Kraft, but he's entered must-start territory for fantasy managers going forward.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. was once again a big part of Cleveland's offense in his second career game in the 41-17 Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Fannin tied for the team lead with five catches on five targets while going for 48 yards, which ranked second on the team, behind only receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Through two weeks in 2025, the 21-year-old Bowling Green product ranks first on the team in receptions (12), third in targets (14), and second in receiving yards (111). While the Browns' offense is among the worst in the league, it doesn't appear that Fannin is going anywhere in terms of usage.
However, his target share could change if Cleveland eventually benches quarterback Joe Flacco. Harold Fannin Jr. should once again be a popular waiver-wire target this week if he's still available. He's currently rostered in 43% of Yahoo leagues.
Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson had a big performance on Sunday in the team's thrilling back-and-forth overtime win over the New York Giants in Week 2. Ferguson ended up leading the team with 12 targets on the day and tied for the team lead in receptions with nine, while racking up 78 receiving yards. The 26-year-old finished second in yards, behind only top wideout CeeDee Lamb.
It was a nice Week 2 performance after he had a modest day in the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, when he went for five catches on six targets for 23 yards. Despite not scoring a touchdown through two weeks, Ferguson ranks as the TE10 in half-PPR scoring with 14 catches on 18 targets for 101 yards.
He's unlikely to be available in your league, as he's currently rostered in 82% of Yahoo leagues. Ferguson will have a good shot at scoring his first 2025 TD in Week 3 against a Bears defense that just gave up over 50 points in Week 2 to Detroit.
Evan Engram, TE, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram (back) was held out of Wednesday's practice session. Engram was dealing with a calf issue last week, but still managed to play in the Week 2 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. However, fantasy managers might not have noticed he played considering he only hauled in one catch for 12 yards during that contest.
The veteran tight end has a total of four catches through the first two weeks. His decrease in usage should be more of a concern than this back injury. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday and Friday for another update on his status.
If Evan Engram ends up sitting in Week 3, Adam Trautman would see an increased role for the Week 3 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Engram should be rostered in most formats, but is tough to trust after two straight duds.
