Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 18:

Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington posted another fantastic performance in Week 17, notching his second straight 10-target, 100-plus-yard game as the Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts 23-17. Over the past two games, Washington has hauled in 14 of his 20 targets for 260 yards and a touchdown, and over this span, he has emerged as the go-to target for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and is a must-add for fantasy managers still competing in Week 18.

Washington has proved throughout the season that he can provide fantasy value with other receivers injured or not playing. Still, even with everyone healthy and a lot of mouths to feed, such as Brian Thomas Jr.Jakobi MeyersBrenton Strange, and Washington, it appears Washington has moved ahead in the pecking order of late. The biggest beneficiary of all these weapons is Lawrence, who has been playing the best football of his career of late. Week 18 should also present a good matchup against the struggling Tennessee Titans.

Audric Estime, RB, New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints running back Audric Estime carried 14 times for 94 yards and a touchdown in Week 17's 34-26 victory over the Tennessee Titans. After a confusing Week 16, where tight end Taysom took most of the rushing attempts, Estime took over and had the best game of his young NFL career. With Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle), Kendre Miller (ACL), and Devin Neal (hamstring) all missing significant time, Estime stepped up, playing 80% of the snaps. In comparison, backup Evan Hull played 18%, and Hill played only 14%.

They face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18, who rank middle-of-the-pack against running backs this season. However, this could be Hill's final game as a Saint, and his usage on the goal line and in other key situations could cap Estime's ceiling in Week 18. In a meaningless game for the Saints, look for Hill to have a proper send-off against the Falcons, whom he has dominated in his NFL career.

Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal (neck) is officially listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Denver Broncos. Vidal is trending in the right direction after getting in two straight full practice sessions to end the week. There seems to be a decent chance that he'll return from his one-game absence this weekend. He'd likely take over as the lead back with rookie Omarion Hampton (ankle) ruled out for this game. Fellow back Hassan Haskins (concussion) carries a questionable tag into this game as well.

Backup quarterback Trey Lance is starting, which could lead to a run-heavy game plan for this offense. Vidal could be looking at a 20-plus carry game, assuming he's able to suit up. Without Vidal or Haskins, the Chargers would likely lean on Jaret Patterson or Amar Johnson. The Chargers' backfield is a situation to avoid in a game where the offense is expected to have a tough time moving the ball with a backup QB.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has fallen off the fantasy radar so quickly as soon as All-Pro Mike Evans returned to the lineup, but also since the return of second-year wideout Jalen McMillan out of Washington. Egbuka has seen his snap share cut almost in half, and over the past three weeks, he has only seen 14 targets and hauled in eight of them for 140 yards. What is most concerning is that he has not been on the field as often, as he has only played 59.3 percent of the snaps over this three-game stretch, and is clearly behind Evans and Chris Godwin in the pecking order, and he and McMillan appear to be splitting snaps as the WR3.

Egbuka was off to a blazing start to the season with five touchdowns and 445 yards through the first five games, but he has quickly fallen off the radar and disappointed in the second half of the season with only 485 yards since. At this point, he is still worth a roster spot in most formats, but he can't be trusted to start as anything better than a WR3, and his value is plummeting.

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught five of his seven targets for 54 yards in a gritty 13-6 victory in Week 17 over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jeudy stepped up after rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. (groin) left mid-way through the first quarter after reaggravating his groin injury. The veteran receiver has his most targets since Week 11 and most yards since Week 14 against a stout Steelers' pass defense.

The severity of Fannin Jr.'s injury is unclear as Week 17 draws to a close. Still, if the tight end were to miss Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Jeudy is likely to be rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders' primary target. However, the Bengals' pass defense is a bottom-three matchup for opposing wide receivers, which will probably limit Jeudy's upside.
