Fantasy Football Draft Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider drafting in 2025:
Matthew Golden - WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden was the first WR selected by the Green Bay Packers in over 20 years. He'll join an offense with a great head coach, Matt LaFleur, and a smattering of underwhelming pass-catchers. Still, it's hard to project what will happen with this offense. For one, the team adopted a massively run-heavy approach in 2024, especially toward the end of the season.
Green Bay ran the ball over 50% of the time, good for third-heaviest run scheme in the league, and the most for any team without a hypermobile quarterback. The Packers spread the ball around way too evenly for the likings of fantasy managers that had any of their pass-catchers on their rosters as well. From Weeks 12 through 17, Packers QB Jordan Love only completed an average of 16 passes per game.
And with running back Josh Jacobs, tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, and WRs Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Mecole Hardman on the roster, with Christian Watson likely to return from injury at some point, we could see another miserable committee. Golden's release package off the line of scrimmage also leaves a lot to be desired. You should probably avoid drafting him in fantasy football.
Bhayshul Tuten - RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten, drafted early in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, has absolutely monstrous athletic upside. He ran a 4.32-second 40-yard-dash after showcasing his blinding speed on tape in 2024. He was also an excellent tackle-breaker and was very elusive, as both the tape and his advanced stats showed. Technically, he's in a crowded running back room, joined by veterans Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby.
The team also selected LeQuint Allen in the seventh round of this year's draft. But new head coach Liam Coen made a rookie Bucky Irving a league-winner with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, and Tuten was the first running back he was presumably involved heavily in selecting. Etienne had a terrible 2024 after a wildly inefficient (sub-4.0 yard per carry) season in 2023, and Bigsby has massive fumbling issues and a lack of pass-catching upside.
Tuten will seize the starting job and run with it as soon as he rips of his first touchdown of 50 yards or more. He's immediately one of the best athletes at the RB position in the league. Sleep on him at your own peril. He is worth reaching for in redraft and dynasty leagues.
Jaylin Noel - WR, Houston Texans
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jaylin Noel inexplicably fell in the 2025 NFL Draft to deep in the third round, where he was chosen by the team that selected his former Iowa State teammate, Jayden Higgins, early in the second round. Noel's first challenge in the NFL will unfortunately be him competing for playing time. While the team's WR1, Nico Collins, figures to easily hang on to the WR1 position and play the "X" role, Noel was more of a slot WR in college.
Houston signed Christian Kirk, a slot wide receiver, in the 2025 offseason. Higgins' role also remains unclear, though with his size, he'll probably be asked to play on the perimeter opposite Collins. There's a scenario in which Noel doesn't get much playing time to start the season, due to the presence of the other three guys.
Additionally, if Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley is as stupid as the now-fired Bobby Slowik was, it's possible that Noel could have another hurdle to overcome -- the team being run-heavy no matter how inefficient the RBs are. Caley is a former pass-game coordinator, though, so that's doubtful. Noel's breakout will come late this season or early next, but expect low volume to start.
Tyler Warren - TE, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren was selected with the team's 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The first thing that will frustrate fantasy managers about him won't be his talent, but the play of the team's current starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson. Richardson is unique in that he's actually pretty accurate on deep throws, but struggles at times in the short-passing game.
The Colts also have a crowded WR room, and distributed targets frustratingly thin for fantasy managers last season. Warren had elite rushing upside in college for a tight end, though.
There's been speculation that he could be good for six or more rushing touchdowns in his first season. He's a bulldozer with the ball in his hands, and that's good for something. Warren might be a sneaky stud in standard (non-PPR) leagues, where his rushing value is more even with his receiving value, considering that zero points are awarded for receptions. It's hard to have much faith in Richardson or his backup, Daniel Jones, though the latter would probably be better for Warren's value, unironically.
