Denver Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich was the 80th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Dulcich spent four years at UCLA, having a productive career. He had only one reception for six yards as a freshman. The young tight end had only eight receptions for 105 receiving yards and a touchdown the following year.

After playing only six games in his first two years, Dulcich had 26 receptions for 517 receiving yards and five touchdowns in seven contests in 2020. He finished second on the team in receptions but first in receiving yards and touchdowns, accounting for 27.8% of UCLA’s receiving touchdowns that season.

However, Dulcich had a breakout season in 2021. The UCLA star tight end had 42 receptions for 725 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He finished second on the team in all three categories, only behind Kyle Philips. More importantly, the star tight end finished top-10 in the Pac-12 in receiving touchdowns in 2020 and 2021.

What Did Greg Dulcich Accomplish As A Rookie?

Unfortunately, Dulcich missed the first five weeks last year with a hamstring injury. However, he hit the ground running in his first career NFL game. The rookie had two receptions on three targets for 44 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

While he missed seven games last season, Dulcich still had 33 receptions on 55 targets for 411 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Yet, the rookie finished second on the team in receiving touchdowns, only behind Jerry Jeudy. More importantly, the former UCLA star was the TE16 on a points-per-game basis, averaging seven half-point PPR fantasy points per contest.

While Denver’s offense was a disaster last year, fantasy players should be optimistic this season. The Broncos replaced Nathaniel Hackett with Sean Payton. Last year the team’s passing attack was better after they hired their rookie head coach.

Meanwhile, the former UCLA star flashed significant upside as a rookie. Dulcich averaged 5.7 targets per game and 1.8 fantasy points per target over his first three NFL games. More importantly, the second-year tight end has had an impressive offseason.

Dulcich has an 11th-round ADP and is typically the 15th tight end off the board. With the Broncos losing Tim Patrick to a season-ending injury, the former UCLA star is well worth his draft price and could have a sophomore-year breakout season.
