Week 8 Tight End Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears - Fantasy Football Outlook

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet is a solid starter this week, thanks to a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders secondary. Kmet has been a boom-or-bust tight end, but in this year's tight-end landscape, that has proven to be more than sufficient for fantasy managers.

While he has had some early inconsistent weeks, he has become increasingly reliable recently. Over his last four games, Kmet has averaged 5.3 receptions and 64.5 receiving yards, scoring three touchdowns and boasting a 12.3 yards per catch average during that stretch.

His connection with quarterback Caleb Williams is strengthening, typical for young quarterbacks who lean on their larger targets as safety valves. Kmet ranks as a borderline top-10 tight end this week, making him a confident start following his bye week. On National Tight End Day, how can we not start Kmet?

- Martin Grisko, RotoBaller

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens - Fantasy Football Outlook

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has finally started to produce the type of fantasy performances that managers have expected. He's finished as the TE3 in each of the last two weeks in half-PPR formats and has gathered 107 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions. This all has come despite playing right around 50% of snaps.

In Week 8, he'll take on the Cleveland Browns who are one of the tougher teams against opposing tight ends. They allow 5.1 fantasy points per game to the position and there are only three other teams that allow fewer. He's a bit of a risky start but comes in around a low-end TE1, especially if Zay Flowers (ankle) doesn't suit up.

- Alex Fischbein, RotoBaller

Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Fantasy Football Outlook

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton is coming off his best performance of the season. The 25-year-old hauled in eight of his 10 targets for 100 yards in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Otton has turned it on over the last few weeks and will likely see a bigger role going forward.

The Bucs are going to be without their top wide receivers, Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle), for the foreseeable future. Both players were injured last week, and as a result, Otton saw 10 targets in that contest. The expectation is that the Bucs will continue to lean on Otton because he continues to produce when called upon.

He has done enough lately that fantasy managers should be able to trust him as a TE1 for the upcoming Week 8 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

- Andy Webb, RotoBaller
