Welcome! The Tuesday, April 12th slate is an interesting one for pitching. There's a few high priced stars and then a handful of high-risk, high-reward options taking the mound.

In this article, I’ll be providing you with the top starting pitcher streamers for daily fantasy baseball (DFS) and for seasonal leagues for 4/12/16. These streamers will range from high-priced / high-ownership options to low-priced / low-ownership options, and will be sleepers and value picks for your cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel, and also for seasonal leagues with daily lineups.

Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays

Noah Syndergaard (NYM) vs. MIA

FanDuel - $11,000 / DraftKings - $10,400

The starting pitcher matchup tool has Syndergaard tied for the highest ranking on the slate today. Thor was dominant in his first start of the season, striking out nine Royals in six innings en route to earning the win. The savings he offers over Jose Fernandez on DraftKings and the Mets being favored in the game gives Syndergaard the slight advantage over the Marlins' ace.

Jose Fernandez (MIA) @ NYM

FanDuel - $10,900 / DraftKings - $11,900

Fernandez ties with Syndergaard for the top pitcher of the day according to the matchup tool. The young ace has high strikeout upside whenever he takes the mound, but will be an underdog against the Mets tonight. He was hit hard in his first start this season but still managed seven strikeouts. Recency bias may make him lower owned than usual.

Matt’s Value Plays of the Day

Kendall Graveman (OAK) vs. LAA

FanDuel - $5,000 / DraftKings - $5,200

Graveman impressed in his first start in 2016, holding the White Sox to two runs over five innings. He will take on an Angels offense that just isn't very scary these days. The young sinkerballer should be able to pitch around Mike Trout and hold the rest of the Los Angeles offense at bay. At his pricing, he's a great value today.

Patrick Corbin (ARI) @ LAD

FanDuel - $7,200 / DraftKings - n/a

As of this writing, DraftKings does not have a slate that includes the two early games. Corbin could be a nice value today and is a much better pitcher than he showed in his first start of the season. The young southpaw also benefits from the fact the Dodgers are much more dangerous against right-handed pitching. Pitching in Los Angeles will be a welcome break from Chase Field, a favorable hitter's park.

Hector Santiago (LAA) @ OAK

FanDuel - $7,600 / DraftKings - $6,900

Santiago is in a great spot tonight. He will play in pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum and take on an Oakland offense that was marginal at best against left-handed pitching last season. Santiago was solid in his first start this season, working six innings of three-run ball while striking out four. No one gets too excited about rostering Santiago, but he's a much better option than several higher-priced pitchers on today's slate.

Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball

Masahiro Tanaka (NYY) @ TOR

FanDuel - $9,100 / DraftKings - $10,000

Wow, that's a lot of money to pay for a pitcher coming off of right elbow surgery. Oh, and he is taking on one of the most dangerous offenses in baseball in a hitter-friendly environment. No thanks.

Clay Buchholz (BOS) vs. BAL

FanDuel - $8,500 / DraftKings - $8,700

Buchholz got touched up by the Indians in his first start this season and now will take on a red-hot Baltimore team. The Orioles have dangerous hitters throughout the lineup and they are best avoided, especially considering what they did to David Price yesterday. There are better, cheaper options on the slate.
