Should I drop Marquise Brown for fantasy football Week 4? Is Marquise Brown a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown, despite having an easy matchup in Week 3 against the New York Giants, failed to make an impact in fantasy football. After scoring 19.9 PPR fantasy points in Week 1, he followed that up with 8.0 and 8.2-point performances.
With both Rashee Rice (suspension) and Xavier Worthy (shoulder) missing Week 3, it seemed that Brown would be heavily targeted in their absence. Yet he only caught four passes for 42 yards and didn't score a touchdown.
This seems like a strange occurrence, considering he was targeted 16 times in Week 1, but it appears that Kansas City had other plans for their offense. So, is it safe to drop Brown now?

Should I Drop Marquise Brown in Fantasy Football?
Probably. It doesn't appear that he's worth holding on to. It seems that WR Tyquan Thornton is the team's primary pass-catcher while Worthy is out. Thornton was targeted a team-high nine times in Week 3, catching five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Thornton has clearly been both more involved in the offense and more capable of making big plays. Through three games without Worthy, he's seen an uptick in targets each week. With Worthy on the verge of a return, things get even more difficult for Brown.
He's likely to be, at best, the team's third-most targeted receiver, and likely its fourth-most targeted pass-catcher, considering that tight end Travis Kelce is still getting more than five targets per game. Brown is little more than a minimal role player in this team's passing offense now.
He hasn't made many big plays other than one on a busted coverage in Week 1.
Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?
There are a lot of intriguing options on waivers right now. Who you should grab probably depends on whether you're comfortable holding players that will probably take more time to break out or whether you need immediate production as a fill-in for busts you drafted or injuries your roster is dealing with.
Thornton might not have as much of a role after Worthy's return, but he's a decent player to start in deeper leagues in your flex spots if you're dealing with injuries. It's a risky bet, though. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tory Horton is a solid upside stash with some immediate value.

Of course, Horton is a rookie, and he doesn't have a valuable slot role -- that belongs to WR Cooper Kupp -- but considering how the Seahawks have played, and his solid snap share, he's a decent emergency start or bench stash.
Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims Jr. is a solid choice to grab. He has an easy matchup coming up, against the Cincinnati Bengals, and it would only take one or two big catches for him to have a nice game. I like him as well, as a FLEX start in deeper leagues.
