NFL MVP Power Rankings: Top 10 Candidates Ahead of Week 17

Joe Burrow - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News - icon rotoballer

No. 10 Joe Burrow - QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow threw for at least three passing scores over his past seven contests. During this span, Burrow has held a stellar 24:5 TD:INT ratio and averaged 319.4 passing yards per game over this span.

However, Burrow has only won four of these seven games and his team remains out of the current playoff picture. If Burrow can continue this impressive run he may be able to lead his club to a postseason victory. If he can accomplish this, he should move to the top-half of this ranking.

Patrick Mahomes - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

No. 9 Patrick Mahomes - QB, Kansas City Chiefs

During their Week 16 victory over the Texans, Mahomes had another modest showing (260 passing yards, one score) but was once again able to get the job done and further build a lead at the top of the AFC.

Mahomes has won each of his past five contests and held a strong 8:0 TD:INT ratio over this span which is a nice improvement compared to the underwhelming 15:11 TD:INT ratio he posted during the first ten games of the campaign.

Jordan Love - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

No. 8 Jordan Love - QB, Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love was not tasked to do much in their victory over the New Orleans Saints. Facing an undermanned Saints team, Love needed to throw for just 182 yards and one score.

However, in his previous five games entering Week 16, Love held a 4-1 record with a solid 8:1 TD:INT ratio and averaged 226.6 passing yards per contest. He threw ten interceptions over his first seven games of the campaign and has continued to show steady improvement.

Sam Darnold - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

No. 7: Sam Darnold - QB, Minnesota Vikings

Sam Darnold led the way last weekend in an impressive victory in Seattle. In this game, Darnold went 22-for-35 with 246 passing yards and three scores. This was his fifth time this season where he threw for at least three passing scores in a single contest.

Darnold and the Vikings are currently carrying an eight-game win streak and are inching closer towards the top spot in the NFC North. During this stretch, Darnold has averaged 270.8 passing yards per game with 19 total scores.

Brian Robinson Jr. - Jayden Daniels - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

No. 6: Jayden Daniels - QB, Washington Commanders

The rookie standout delivered another thrilling victory for the Washington Commanders as they near a playoff birth. In this game, Daniels threw a season-high five scores and tallied over 320 all-purpose yards en route to defeating the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since throwing just 191 yards during their Week 11 loss to the Eagles, Daniels has gone on to post a 3-1 record while averaging 241.3 passing yards, 63.8 rushing yards and has found the end zone 14 times over this span.

Saquon Barkley - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

No. 5: Saquon Barkley- RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley enjoyed a massive bounce-back showing in Week 16 as he tallied 150 yards and two scores on 29 attempts during their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. In his previous game, Barkley ran for just 65 yards, his second-lowest total of the campaign.

Since Week 11, Barkley failed to eclipse the century mark in just one contest. Over this span, the former Penn State product averaged a stellar 141.2 yards per game and found the back of the end zone seven times.

Jalen Hurts - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

No. 4: Jalen Hurts - QB, Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts left last weekend’s game in the opening quarter with a concussion. He was unable to return to the contest and the Eagles saw their ten-game win streak snapped at the hands of the Washington Commanders.

However, during this ten-game streak. Hurts was performing at an elite MVP level. Over this span, Hurts averaged just under 250.0 total yards per game while finding the end zone 26 times (14 passing, 12 rushing) and throwing just one interception. If he cannot return in Week 17 or 18, his MVP hopes may comes to an end.

No. 3: Jared Goff - QB, Detroit Lions

Jared Goff continued to inch closer to claiming home field advantage during the postseason as he dismantled the Chicago Bears by going 23-for-32 with 336 passing yards and three scores. He connected with his No.2 wideout Jameson Williams on an impressive 82-yard score.

Since throwing five interceptions in Week 19, Goff has gone on to hold a stellar 17:1 TD:INT ratio while averaging 335.8 passing yards per game over his past six contests. During this span he has held a 5-1 record.

Lamar Jackson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

No. 2 Lamar Jackson - QB, Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson led the Ravens to a crucial divisional victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. In this game, Jackson went 15-for-23 with 207 passing yards, three scores and 22 yards on the ground. This was a nice bounce-back showing as Jackson threw just one score in their first meeting during Week 11.

Over his past four contests, Jackson has posted a 3-1 record with 12:1 TD:INT ratio (13 total scores) while averaging just under 270.0 total yards per game.

josh allen fantasy football rankings NFL injury news DFS lineup picks

No. 1 Josh Allen - QB, Buffalo Bills

After scoring eight touchdowns during Weeks 14 and 15, Allen let his running back James Cook do most of the damage in their victory over the New England Patriots. In this contest, Allen threw just 154 passing yards with just one score.

Allen has gone 9-1 over his past ten contests and averaged a stellar 294.5 all-purpose yards per game over this stretch. During this span, Allen has found the back of the end zone an eye-catching 27 times.
