1 week agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames had a nice day at the plate in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Mets, going 4-for-5 with two singles, two doubles, and two RBI. The 27-year-old now has a .243/.306/.480 slash line with 30 home runs, 94 RBI, and seven stolen bases. The batting average has been a little low, but everything else has been a solid contribution to fantasy managers' teams.--Connelly Doan - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

2 weeks agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames reached base four times Tuesday night, going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, a run scored, and two RBI in an 8-4 win against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. Adames has a five-game hitting streak going and has driven in exactly two runs in each of his last three games. He's slashing .234/.296/.463 this season, which is a bit less impressive than his last few seasons but is still an above-average output. With 28 home runs, five steals, 75 runs scored, and 85 RBI, fantasy managers have to be pleased with his overall performance this year.--Doug Goldring - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

2 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames hit his 20th homer of the season Friday night, reaching that plateau for the third time in his career. He appears well on his way to besting his career-high of 25 round-trippers, set in 2021. Adames went 1-for-6 in this contest with two runs scored. While he's enjoying a productive season with 50 runs scored, 52 RBI, and three steals, Adames has only managed a .219 batting average and .292 on-base percentage, which would represent career lows for him by a wide margin.--Doug Goldring - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

3 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames went 1-3 with a two-run home run in the 6-3 win against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. This season, Adames has career-lows in batting average (.217) and on-base percentage (.289). However, the 27-year-old is on pace to hit over 30 home runs this season, which would be a career-high. Hopefully, the young shortstop can pick up his average after the All-Star break. Shallow mixed-league fantasy managers should monitor if he can't get it together after All-Star weekend. Deep-league fantasy league managers, on the other hand, shouldn't worry.--Harry Stiel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

3 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames had a three-hit game against the New York Mets Wednesday, adding a double, two RBI, and two runs scored in five at-bats during a 10-2 victory. This is just his third multi-hit performance since the beginning of May but his second in the last three games, so fantasy managers should be hopeful that a hot streak is coming. For the year, Adames has slashed .208/.292/.465 with 11 homers, 28 runs, 30 RBI, and one steal.--Doug Goldring - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

4 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers reinstated shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Infielder Pablo Reyes was optioned to Triple-A to clear a roster spot for him. Adames had been out since May 15. A left ankle sprain initially sent him to the injured list, but he experienced quadriceps soreness during his rehab assignment, which delayed his return to the majors. The 26-year-old has been limited to 35 games so far this year. He has a season-long slash line of .208/.304/.462 to go along with nine home runs, 24 RBI and 23 runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Milwaukee Brewers
Share:
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) will be activated from the injured list on Wednesday as long as things go well on Tuesday, according to manager Craig Counsell. Adames came into Tuesday saying he was 100%, but the Brewers wanted him to show it. The 26-year-old went on the injured list on May 15 with a left ankle sprain, and he dealt with some quadriceps soreness while on his minor league rehab assignment. In three rehab games with Single-A Carolina and Triple-A Nashville, Adames went 3-for-8 with two home runs and three RBI. He should return to being the team's everyday shortstop. He has a low .208 average but has also hit nine home runs and driven in 24 in 130 at-bats at the major league level this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Will Sammon

4 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers are expected to activate shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. He completed his rehab assignment and is to travel back to Milwaukee and rejoin the team Saturday. The 26-year-old has been sidelined since May 15th due to an ankle sprain. His return will push Luis Urias back to the hot corner and Jace Peterson back to a utility role for Milwaukee. Adames is slashing .208/.304/.462 with nine home runs, 24 RBI, 23 runs, and a stolen base over 35 games in 2022.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Adam McCalvy of MLB.com

4 months agoIn his return in the minor leagues on his rehab assignment for Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) went 1-for-3 and played four innings at shortstop. Adames initially went on the injured list with an ankle injury, but he missed the previous two games in Nashville due to quadriceps soreness. As long as the Brewers are comfortable with both of his injuries, Adames could be activated in time for the weekend series against the San Diego Padres. His return will push Luis Urias back to the hot corner and Jace Peterson back to a utility role for Milwaukee. The 26-year-old is hitting just .208 this year with a .304 on-base percentage, but his power (nine home runs and 24 RBI) plays in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com - Adam McCalvy

4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quadriceps) will be back in the lineup for Triple-A Nashville on his minor league rehab assignment on Thursday, and he's expected to play half the game. Adames had some pain in his right quadriceps muscle during his first rehab game and sat out on Tuesday. The good news is the 26-year-old is back in action after hitting a two-run home run in his first rehab game on Sunday. Barring any further setbacks, Adames could rejoin the Brewers lineup at some point next week. He's hitting only .208 on the season with a .304 on-base percentage for the Brew Crew, but he does have nine home runs, 24 RBI, 23 runs scored and one stolen base in 130 at-bats at the major league level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Will Sammon
Share:
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle, quad) is currently rehabbing an ankle injury at Single-A Carolina. While he's experienced no issues with his ankle in recent days, he's now dealing with quad discomfort. The quad injury led to him being held out of action on Monday. He is continuing with baseball activities, so it's not a shut down type of situation, but his timeline is being pushed back at least a few days. The 26-year-old has slashed .221/.291/.405 with five home runs, six stolen bases, 18 RBI and 20 runs over 44 games this year. If the quad injury quickly subsides, we could see him back with the Brewers this weekend. Otherwise, we may be looking at a return early next week.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Curt Hogg
Share:
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle) went 1-for-2 with a home run in his first minor league rehab game on Sunday with Single-A Carolina as the designated hitter. Adames is scheduled to play for Triple-A Nashville on Monday. The Brewers will want to see the 26-year-old play in back-to-back games at shortstop on his rehab assignment before he's activated from the injured list. Adames has nine home runs and 24 RBI on the season for fantasy managers, but he's hitting only .208/.304/.462 in 35 games for Milwaukee. Barring any setbacks, Adames should be back in the Brewers lineup this week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Milb.com
Share:
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle) is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment and will play for Single-A Carolina on Sunday before joining Triple-A Nashville for games on Monday and Wednesday. Adames is rehabbing from a sprained left ankle, and there's a chance that he could rejoin the Brewers after two rehab games with Nashville next week. The 26-year-old has produced plenty of power from the shortstop position (nine home runs and 24 RBI), but he's hitting only .208 (27-for-130) with a .304 on-base percentage in 148 plate appearances over 35 games for the Brew Crew. With Adames sidelined, Luis Urias has moved over to the 6, with Jace Peterson serving as Milwaukee's primary third baseman.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Bally Sports Wisconsin - Sophia Minnaert
Share:
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames (ankle) participated in batting practice and took grounders but won't be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of this weekend's series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 26-year-old will continue to ramp up his activity and look to return to action next week. He's been sidelined since May 16th with a high left ankle sprain. Luis Urias will handle shortstop duties while Jace Peterson and Mike Brosseau will continue to see an uptick in at-bats with Adames sidelined. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Adames on their bench after the Brewers shortstop slashed .208/.304/.462 with nine home runs, 24 RBI, and a stolen base over 35 games in 2022.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Adam McCalvy of MLB.com
Share:
4 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers have placed shortstop Willy Adames (ankle) on the 10-day injured list with a high left ankle sprain. The move is retroactive to May 16. Adames first suffered the injury this past Sunday. The team was taking a few days to see if he could avoid a stint on the injured list, but evidently he wasn't healing fast enough. The 26-year-old will now be out until at least the middle of next week. Luis Urias should continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop with Adames out while Jace Peterson and Mike Brosseau handle third base duties. The Brewers called up infielder Keston Hiura to take Adames' roster spot.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Milwaukee Brewers
