Xavier Edwards Ejected on Friday
Xavier Edwards had an early exit in the team's 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. Home-plate umpire Chad Fairchild ejected Edwards in the third inning after an argument over a runner interference call. Edwards was ruled out after colliding with Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda while trying to beat out a bunt single. He ended the day 0-for-2, and Miami replaced him at the keystone with Javier Sanoja. Fantasy managers should expect Edwards back in the Marlins' lineup Saturday against Rays righty Taj Bradley. The speedy Edwards is hitting a disappointing .280/.349/.312 with 11 steals in 212 plate appearances this season, though he has gone 7-of-14 in June.
