Xander Bogaerts Getting Another Day Off
3 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that shortstop Xander Bogaerts will receive "just one more day" off on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Cora said Bogaerts' wrist is a factor, but it's nothing serious. Fantasy managers should expect to have Bogaerts back in the starting lineup on Wednesday. The 28-year-old has struggled since the All-Star break, going 5-for-29 (.172) with no home runs and two RBI, but he's hitting an excellent .309/.371/.520 overall with an .891 OPS, 15 home runs, 53 RBI and five stolen bases in 350 plate appearances. Kike Hernandez will once again play shortstop and hit leadoff on Tuesday against Blue Jays left-hander Robbie Ray. Hernandez has been swinging a hot stick lately and has hit better against southpaws in 2021, so he'll certainly be an intriguing DFS upside play because of his power.
