Wilmer Flores 2024 Player Outlook: Lack Of Playing Time Dampening Value
9 months agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores is a productive overall bat but his value to his team exceeds his value to his fantasy managers. Initially slated to handle the bulk of designated hitter reps, his value was blown up the moment the Giants inked outfielder/DH Jorge Soler this winter. The signing pushed Flores out of the everyday lineup and the fact he and Soler both swing from the right side does not help. The 32-year-old hit .284 with 23 home runs and 60 RBI in 454 plate appearances as part of a big season in 2023 but don't expect that much usage for him in 2024. ATC projects just 386 trips to the plate for the veteran in 2024 with a .256 average alongside 14 homers and 49 RBI in that time. His 416.86 ADP isn't unreasonable but his projected output isn't ideal for a corner infielder this season.
