Vikings, T.J. Hockenson Agree On Contract Extension
1 year agoThe Minnesota Vikings and tight end T.J. Hockenson agreed to terms on a contract extension on Thursday that makes him one of the league's highest-paid tight ends, according to sources. The Vikings acquired Hockenson from the Detroit Lions last fall, and he excelled in 10 games with the team, catching 60 passes for 519 yards and three touchdowns on 86 targets. The eighth overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Iowa set career-highs in receptions (86) and receiving yards (914) in 2022 and enters the 2023 campaign as an easy top-five fantasy tight end in a pass-happy offense in Minnesota. The 26-year-old missed some time with an ear infection and a back injury, but there are no indications that he'll be in danger of missing Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
