Trey Sermon To Be Limited In Practice
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Trey Sermon (concussion) will be limited in practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion in his first career NFL game in the Week 2 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Sermon is trending in the right direction ahead of the Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, but he still must be cleared from the league's concussion protocol later this week in order to have a shot at playing. The third-rounder was active last week with Raheem Mostert (knee) out for the season, but he was injured on his only carry for eight yards. San Fran's backfield is extremely beat up with Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) now injured and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) set to miss multiple weeks. The 22-year-old rookie will likely have a role if he's cleared for this weekend, but he might only be a starting option in deeper leagues if Mitchell is ruled out.
