1 year agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora has pumped the brakes on shortstop Trevor Story's (elbow) return from the injured list this weekend. There's a chance Story makes his 2023 season debut this weekend, but either way, his minor-league rehab clock runs out on Aug. 9, so he'll be back next week one way or another. The Red Sox aren't going to rush the 30-year-old veteran back as their starting shortstop since he hasn't played in a major-league contest since last September. Until he's back, Yu Chang should continue to operate as the starter at the 6 in Beantown. Story will be the team's everyday starter at the position when he comes back, although the Red Sox could build scheduled off days into his schedule early on.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
