Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner (wrist) is out of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's game at home against the division-rival Miami Marlins, according to MLB.com. Turner was removed from the game early in Monday's series opener with a right-wrist bruise after he was hit by a pitch, and he'll miss at least one game as a result. With X-rays coming back negative, Turner is expected to be back in the starting nine on Wednesday. Edmundo Sosa will start at the 6 at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday and will bat ninth for the Phillies against Marlins right-hander Tyler Phillips. Turner, in his 12th year in the big leagues, is showing clear signs of decline so far in 2026, as he's currently hitting just .216/.268/.326 with a career-worst .595 OPS, seven home runs, 21 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and 41 runs scored in 71 games and a league-high 291 at-bats. The three-time All-Star had a league-high .304 average (179-for-589) in 141 regular-season games in 2025 in his third year with the Phillies. Turner hasn't homered since May 27 and has gone 10-for-53 (.189) with two doubles, two RBI, three steals, seven runs, three walks, and 15 strikeouts in 13 games so far in June.--Keith Hernandez
