Washington Capitals right wing Tom Wilson has signed a big seven-year, $45.5 million extension with the team. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason, but the Capitals have now locked up the power forward for a very long time. With the new deal, Wilson's cap hit will jump from just below $5.2 million to $6.5 million in 2024-25. The Capitals have put their faith in Wilson despite the 29-year-old coming off an injury-hit season. Wilson skated in just 33 games in 2022-23, registering 13 goals and 20 points. He has notched 295 points (128 goals, 167 assists) in 680 for his entire career, while also tallying 2039 hits.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
