Last year at Watkins Glen, Todd Gilliland had a very strong race car. He led five laps in that race and finished in 4th-place at the end of Stage 1, but mechanical issues ended the No. 38 team's day early and Gilliland wound up finishing in 38th-place. This time around, Gilliland is confident that they can have similar speed in his Ford. When asked about this weekend's Go Bowling at The Glen earlier this week, Todd stated, "I know we can be fast again this year at Watkins Glen." In order for that to happen, though, Gilliland is going to have to get more out of his race car than he did on Saturday. In practice, the No. 38 Ford was just 29th-fastest on the speed chart, and then Gilliland went out and qualified in 25th-place. Gilliland has shown upside at road courses in the past, but he's no consistent. Three of his nine career Cup Series starts at road courses have ended with Gilliland in 16th-place or better, but he also has three road course results of 30th-place or worse as well.--Jordan McAbee
