Tim Anderson Could Be Useful In AL-only leagues
7 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is coming off of his first full season with the big league club. After playing 99 games in 2016, the shortstop earned the starting gig in 2017. Anderson, plays a position where there isn't much depth which helps his fantasy stock. Still just 24 years old, strikeouts have been his enemy throughout his career. Like most players, you have to take the good and the bad. Anderson did hit 17 home runs and stole 15 bases, but that came at the expense of a .257 batting average and 162 strikeouts while drawing just 13 walks. In terms of quality of contact for the shortstop, his soft, medium and hard percentages of 21.3/50.5/28.3 are not promising. For Anderson to achieve his full potential, he will have to learn to have more patience at the plate. At this point, Anderson is what he is, a shortstop who will assist your team with power at the shortstop position and speed. For now, he is fit for AL-only leagues and worth a flier in deeper mixed leagues.
