Tigers Acquire Mark Canha From Brewers
1 year agoThe Detroit Tigers acquired outfielder/first baseman Mark Canha from the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday in exchange for right-hander Blake Holub. Canha will now head to his third different team in the last year. The 34-year-old veteran began the 2023 campaign with the New York Mets, hitting .245 (63-for-257) with six homers, 29 RBI and seven stolen bases in 89 games before being traded to Milwaukee midseason. In 50 contests with the Brew Crew, he went 51-for-178 (.287) with five long balls, 33 RBI and four stolen bases. Canha will now join the Tigers and compete for playing time in the outfield with Akil Baddoo, Kerry Carpenter, Zach McKinstry and Matt Vierling. Holub, 25, had a 3.03 ERA and eight saves in 48 relief outings with Single-A Michigan and Double-A Erie in 2023.
