Thomas White Will Return to Mound on Friday
Thomas White (finger) is expected to return to action on Friday to start for High-A Beloit. The Marlins' top prospect hasn't pitched since May 9 due to a blister on his finger, but appears to be fully recovered. The southpaw has made six starts at High-A so far this year, pitching to a 3.24 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and boasting a 34.3 percent strikeout rate. A high 14.8 percent walk rate needs to be remedied, but the 6-foot-5 hurler clearly has wipeout stuff and has an ETA of 2026 for a major league debut, according to MLB.com's top prospects list. For that timeline to hold, look for a promotion to Double-A after a couple more successful starts, and he'll warrant attention in dynasty leagues as MLB's 34th-ranked prospect overall.
