Thomas White Strikes Out Eight on Friday
Thomas White struck out eight batters across four shutout frames on Friday evening. White allowed just one hit and no walks to High-A Fort Wayne. White was dealing with a left index finger injury throughout most of May but appears to have returned to form after tallying just three punchouts in his previous start. Through 31 innings with High-A this season, the top-ranked prospect in the Miami system and No. 34-ranked in the sport has held a 2.90 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP. During this stretch, the southpaw has struck out 48 batters and served up 17 free passes. During his first stint at High-A last season, White struck out 76 batters across 62 innings of work. White should earn a taste of Double-A later this summer and remains on track to reach the majors next season.
