Terry McLaurin 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Frustrated with Contract Talks, Requests Trade Out of Washington
Terry McLaurin (ankle) cobbled together 1,000-yard seasons despite mediocre quarterback play. Through the seasons with Case Keenum, Taylor Heinicke, Sam Howell, and more, the fantasy community wondered: What if McLaurin played with a top quarterback under center? That wish finally came true when Jayden Daniels took the league by storm in his rookie season. McLaurin's yardage and reception numbers stayed mostly consistent. The touchdown total spiked. He hauled in 13 in 2024 after 14 combined in the previous three seasons. There's concern that McLaurin won't be able to replicate that, considering his history and Washington's addition of another red zone threat, Deebo Samuel Sr. Nevertheless, fantasy managers can pencil in 1,000 yards and approximately 80 receptions from the consistent McLaurin. Touchdowns will determine if he's a WR2 or sneaks back into the top 12 in 2025. Update 8/2/2025: McLaurin held out the first few days of training camp but has missed practice due to an ankle injury. He recently requested to be traded as talks of a contract extension have stalled. The Commanders have no interest in trading McLaurin and are looking to resolve the contract dispute soon. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation, but his draft stock has taken a hit with the ankle injury and contract dispute.
