Taylor Heinicke Suffers AC Joint Sprain
4 years agoWashington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder that caused him to leave the game temporarily in the wild-card loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday night. X-rays came back negative. The 27-year-old made just his second career start against Tampa with Alex Smith (calf) inactive and was impressive, completing 26 of 44 passes for 306 yards, a touchdown and an interception through the air. He also added 46 rushing yards and a touchdown in the 31-23 loss. Heinicke stood in the pocket and made tough throws in the face of pressure and also displayed nice mobility when he had to. If he doesn't remain in D.C. in 2021, Heinicke definitely earned himself a chance to be a backup somewhere else with his play on Saturday night against a tough Bucs defense.
