Buffalo Sabres center Tage Thompson (upper body) is facing a long-term absence after getting hurt in Tuesday's matchup against Boston. He exited the game after getting hit on his left wrist by a puck. Thompson also left in the first period when he suffered a cut from a skate blade but was able to return. "Tage is going to miss some time here, probably significant time, unfortunately," Sabres head coach Don Granato said postgame. "He fought through the first injury but couldn't fight through the second one. Credit to him to battle but it's unfortunate." Thompson had a big breakthrough last season with a 94-point campaign and has posted 12 points (six goals, six assists) through 16 outings in 2023-24.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
