The Pittsburgh Steelers released offensive guard David DeCastro (ankle) on Thursday, saving $8.75 million in salary cap space. According to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, DeCastro has had his ankle evaluated recently after having issues with it for quite some time. He had surgery on it before last season and could consider retirement. Pittsburgh had free-agent guard Trai Turner in for a visit last week and remain in talks with him as a potential replacement for DeCastro on the offensive line. Turner, a five-time Pro Bowler, recently proclaimed himself 100 percent healthy after playing in just nine games for the Los Angeles Chargers last season.
