Shohei Ohtani Unsure If He'll Skip A Start
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels right-hander Shohei Ohtani (finger) said he was dealing with cramping in his right middle finger during his start on Thursday night against the Seattle Mariners, and he doesn't know if he'll need to skip his next start. The cramping caused him to depart after four innings on the mound, holding the M's scoreless on three hits while walking one and striking out four to drop his season ERA to 3.32 as a hurler. The 29-year-old two-way superstar has had issues with cramping in his legs recently as well, but he stayed in the game as the designated hitter and went 2-for-2 with his major-league-leading 40th homer of the year, two walks and two runs scored. The cramping issues are a bit concerning, but the Angels still don't seem terribly worried. Whenever Ohtani is on the mound or as the DH, the bottom line is that he needs to be in all starting fantasy lineups.
