Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov will get the call on Thursday night versus the Blue Jackets. The Avs, currently tied for the second wild-card spot in the West, will look for Varlamov to build off a steady performance (stopping 25 of 27 shots) on Tuesday. The Russian netminder (owned in just 61 percent of Yahoo! leagues) has been quite solid in three games this month, posting a combined 2.32 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage. Adding to that, Varlamov's opponent (Columbus) currently sits 27th in the NHL in goals allowed per game (2.60) this season. Considering the importance of the game for the Avs, Varlamov's recent performances and Columbus' lack of offensive firepower this season, the goaltender should be relied upon for a start Thursday in fantasy leagues.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
