The New York Islanders signed free-agent goaltender Semyon Varlamov (Avalanche) to a four-year contract with an annual average value of $5 million on Monday. He posted a 20-19-9 record, 2.87 goals-against average and .909 save percentage with the Avalanche in 2018-19. He will pair with Thomas Greiss on the Island, hoping lightning strikes twice after redemption project Robin Lehner shined so very brightly during the 2018-19 campaign. We have to see who shakes out as the No. 1 goaltender, or if it is simply a 50-50 split, before recommending either Greiss or Varlamov for fantasy.--Daniel Dobish
